1. I really like the strength of the linear shape entering the canvas and leaving in one stroke without disruption. I am quite excited about this start. I like the muted tones and its softness. I find the blue shape leaving (top right) the canvas intriquing.

2. Something wasn't right with the top of the canvas so added a band of blue as well as other colour and activity over the rest of the surface.

3. I am trying to get as much interest in the surface of the canvas as possible like the distressed surfaces found on old painted walls.

4. The pink flower head and outline and bottle are added to give a focal point and to draw the painting together.

5. I consider this the finished peice but I am left feeling that I lost the the power of the painting in its initial stages. I would like to start again and take another path. Hopefully finishing with the strong central shape still intact. larger image of the finished painting.
